Seedling to Flower, leaf by leaf

More Details
“It is important to realize that during the same era in our medical history, when the medical establishment made its decision to deal primarily with toxic botanical and non-botanical substances as their materia medica, the lay population concurrently surrendered its health and disease care to these same medical professionals and proceeded to lose their knowledge of self-medication using medicinal plants and stopped preparing herbal remedies as their grandparents and ancestors had done.” -James Green, Herbalist
Seedling to Flower is a 3-year program that will teach you about your self, your health and well-being, and how to become a Herbwoman to care for your own health, and the health of those around you in the everyday situations that life throws at you.
The format for Seedling to Flower
You will receive audio recording classes twice a week. These audio files can be downloaded and listened to whenever works for you. These audio files will be between 5 and 15 minutes long. Why so short, and only twice a week? The purpose of Seedling to Flower is to provide you with a learning program about health that is not overwhelming you with information and constant emails. Sometimes there will be more optional learning for you in PDF format that can be downloaded and printed or read later (if you wish). Every month you will also receive a PDF of 1 herb, which will include the benefits of the herb, how to use it and where to find it. This monthly herb will be chosen to go with the month’s topic.
What will You Learn in Seedling to Flower?
Year One:
Understanding Your Health
To start with we will cover a brief overview of Herbalism here in the west, and what the goal of being holistically healthy looks like. Then we will jump in with both feet, learning more specific details about our selves. We will cover all the body’s systems; discussing how each system works, what “red flags” to look for, and how to support each system with herbs and lifestyle practices so you can be as strong and healthy as possible. Once we have covered all of that, we will continue into learning about healthy development and aging.
In Year Two we will delve deeper into our health and well being, discussing such topics as Stress, Mental and Emotional Health, Living an Authentic Life, and we will also take a deeper dive into Women’s health and well-being; the full journey from first menses through menopause and how to use the foods we eat, the herbs we take, and the lifestyle practices we use, for support and nourishment. We’ll talk more about healthy development, and we’ll discuss strategies for raising the next generation with tools and resources to lead a strong and healthy life, right from the start.
Year Two:
Taking Control of Your Health
Year Three: Becoming a Herbwoman
Year three will be a more practical approach to our health, herbalism and holistic healing in general. This year we will switch to video lessons instead of audio as we focus on developing your personal repertoire of herbs (mostly from your local area), and creating your remedies for your medicine bag to keep yourself, your family, and perhaps even your community, healthy. We will also discuss what to do next if you wish to continue your studies.
It is my dream to see women returned to our rightful place of confidence in our ability to restore and maintain the health and strength of ourselves and our families for generations. I hope my Seedling to Flower learning program will be a part of that restoration and that you will experience benefits from this program for years to come.
